Hi.

Welcome to my blog. Where I document my adventures in life. Here you'll find a little bit of every thing that gets me going. Let your hair down and enjoy the ride!

 Gone and done it!

Gone and done it!

There’s only so much you can learn in one place. The more that I wait, the more time that I waste.

I really did it, Y'all

I am now writing to you as an excited (slightly nervous) South Floridian! It is still hard to believe. As a matter of fact, it didn't hit me until my family prepared to leave and I realized that I would not be returning with them. Can you believe that they dropped me off and LEFT ME HERE? (This is my story and I am sticking to it!) Honestly, I can't believe they really trusted my decision to move to Florida. Don't they know I am not to be trusted?! #TheAudacity 🤣🤣🤣 However, it's too late to turn back now and I am actually relieved to have completed the whole process because let me tell you, ya girl was stressed!

Let's revisit...

  • Packing is the worst

As you probably guessed, I waited until the last possible moment to pack because I completely underestimated the amount of junk that I managed to "organize" in my one bedroom apartment. Every month prior to the move I deceived myself into thinking that I only had a small amount of clothes, shoes, and accessories. I was wrong...dead wrong. Even with the help of multiple friends over the course of two weeks, I still found the entire process mentally and physically taxing. So take it from me folks, if you're ever doing a big move, protect your sanity and get movers. I will never pack/move my own belongings again if I can help it. #LessonLearned

  • The weather was the worst

Packing up and moving 10 hours away is stressful enough but doing so during a torrential downpour takes the cake. To be fair, this isn't really something I could control being that I planned this move 4-5 months in advance, however, it is helpful to know if you'll be moving during a tropical monsoon. The weather app is your friend.

  • The drive was actually better than I anticipated

Ideally, I would opt out of riding in a car for more than 4 hours because I am not the road trip type. I dreaded the drive nearly as much as I dreaded packing. Regardless, I survived and it was definitely made easier by music. So if you must take a 10-11 hour drive make sure to have a fire playlist on hand. You can follow me on Spotify at Brandi McRae to check out what songs I like to jam to during my famous car karaoke sessions. Follow me on SnapChat at xtr3mecatitude to witness said sessions. At the end of it all, it was enjoyable to actually be present and take in the sights and sounds all around me during my Spotify car karaoke world tour.

New life, new beginnings

Now that I have taken the plunge and relocated (a process I refuse to go through again any time soon), it's time to get my GLOW on! I have learned so much in the comfort of my home state but now it is time to find out what life lessons I can learn from my discomfort away from home. For the first time, I am in a new city and state with only one local friend and a 5 pound Yorkipoo.  In spite of it all, I am ready to expand my circle of friends, try new things and all-out flourish! So if you are in or familiar with the goings-on in South Florida, drop some suggestions in the comments below! (Hint: I love tacos 😉)
